Philosophy and Medicine in Early Modern and Modern Thought
The fMOD Group has an ongoing collaboration program on “Philosophy and Medicine”, with a focus on early modern and modern thought, with the Turin Academy of Medicine. We jointly organize an yearly seminar on themes of interest to both disciplines, and that span historical research and present-day reflection.
The first seminar took place in 2014 and was devoted to the theme: “Knowledge and Cure. Philosophy and Medicine in Modern Thought”; keynote speaker was Guido Giglioni. The second seminar takes place on April 8-9 2015 and deals with “The Modern Ambiguity of Death”, with keynote speaker Ann Thomson.
